Non-Spectrum Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8240HDC an option?

I salvaged a Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8240HDC DVR from the local recycling center. It's originally from a non-Time Warner/Spectrum cable provider. I currently have an old Scientific Atlanta Explorer 4250HDC (non DVR) box. Is there any way I could get the 8240HDC to work on my Spectrum...

    Current TWC Internet Speeds

The D30CM-OSPREY-1.5.2.3-GA-01-NOSH firmware is the version with the IPv6 fix. I see that the current TWC Internet compatible modems list revised on October 19, 2016 still identifies the SB6183 as "Not IPv6 compatible". I'm not running IPv6. My guess is that Spectrum/TWC simply neglected to...

The button was removed because jokers would send emails to people that had a clickable link to the same link used by the button. If you were silly enough to click on the link you would reboot your modem and create a temporary "denial of service" attack on your own cable modem. The situation was...

    Current TWC Internet Speeds

For many weeks I've been getting 300+ Mbps download rates on what was the "Extreme 300" provisioning but I just did a couple of speed tests and find my current d/l rates are maxing out around 212Mbps. I'm hoping this isn't a recent Spectrum change. I'll try to do some more speed tests later...

    Current TWC Internet Speeds

I see that the D30CM-OSPREY-1.5.2.3-GA-01-NOSH firmware now has the Energy Efficient Ethernet configuration option. Does anyone have experience with using this setting? In particular, has anyone tested whether it actually saves energy or has seen any performance degradation with it enabled?

Just saw that. It looks like Spectrum did my update approximately 3am today. Time to adjust the modem LED settings....

Yes, the upload speed makes my cloud backups go much quicker. Screen Shot 2016-08-23 At 2.46.25 PM by Nile posted Aug 28, 2016 at 1:32 AM I did a retest a couple of days ago and the d/l speed hit 364Mbps. It might be that my download speed tests are significantly affected by competition with...

    Current TWC Internet Speeds

Just ran another test using a different speed test site: Looks like my current maximum download speeds are too fast for some test sites to test properly...several other speed tests maxed out at around 235Mbps.

Any inkling when TWC might be rolling this firmware out?

    Current TWC Internet Speeds

I swapped out the Arris SB 6141 for an Arris 6183 and re-ran the tests: Much better.

    Current TWC Internet Speeds

I just read that message and thought "Hey, I live across the freeway from you [in Birdland]...I ought to do another speed test." Sure enough...118Mbps down and 14.2Mbps up on an Arris 6141 cable modem. Maxx has arrived in Birdland. No letter from TWC.

    Current TWC Internet Speeds

I noticed my network transfers had been slow for about a week and finally ran tests last night. I found my speeds had dropped from the 50/6 I've been getting for months back to the old 17/1 "standard" data rate. TWC support tells me that the weren't planning on instituting the "MAX" rate for my...

TWC- San Diego Plan For All Digital Conversion by 2016

My standard plan just got switched to Maxx two days ago: This is using an SB6141 cable modem in 92123 (the Birdland neighborhood).

    TWC Maxx Speed Increase

I have TWC Standard internet service. On Friday evening I started a large file download and noticed the maximum download rate had increased from 15Mbps to 60Mbps. After testing I confirmed the upload rate had increased to 5Mbps. It appears the TWC Maxx speed upgrade has arrived.

    TWC Legal Notice Updates

Yeah, I got that letter too. I have a Beyond TV server with 3 analog capture cards that will become useless when the analog signals are discontinued. I called TWC to ask about the SD analog to digital box offer. They will start charging $0.99 a month per box starting December of 2013 so I...
