Has anyone else heard the rumors that Sinclair Broadcasting is tring to purchase Fox 5 San Diego?

Yes, I have, however nothing is final. Some stations are to be divested (due to FCC/DOJ), but that will likely not include KSWB. KSWB will likely remain as a Tribune station. Most of those stations to be divested are likely those where Sinclair and Tribune both own stations. Around 13 are to be divested, but who knows the final outcome.

Appears that KSWB will be divested to Fox after the Sinclair acquisition.

Merger has been called off, but it is possible that KSWB could eventually become a Fox owned station. It depends on if Tribune gets bought and sold or it gets sold in chunks.

Latest rumors is that Nexstar is going to buy Tribune but not sure what will happen to KSWB. Could still be divested to Fox TV stations so it can be run as an O&O, but not sure.
